About The Pit Golf Links (Aberdeen, NC)
Carved out of a reclaimed 230-acre sand quarry, The Pit has received rave reviews since opening in 1985. An original Dan Maples design, it continues to draw visitors from near and far. It has been said ?there is not another course like it in the world.? The front is typical of Carolina courses with dense tree-lined fairways, rolling terrain, and no water in play. The back nine presents a diverse challenge as more of the quarry features are apparent. The Pit assures an unforgettable day of golf!

The Pit was a very challenging course. We had the course to ourselves so we got to take our time on each shot and really take in the beauty of the course. Lots of blind shots that challenged all of us. Overall a great course. We would definitely play the Pit again.
