Carved out of a 230-acre sand quarry, The Pit has received rave reviews since opening in 1985. An original Dan Maples design, it is currently ranked as one of the Top 50 courses in America open to the public, and in the Top 10 in North Carolina by both Golf Digest and Golfweek.
